Two die in horrific road crash

Two people have died and a third seriously injured following a collision between a car and a motor-cycle. 

The accident happened at 10.20am on the 25th at Much Birch on the A49 Hereford to Ross-on-Wye road, six miles south of the city.  One person, the male driver of the car was confirmed dead at the scene, the male motor-cyclist was taken to Hereford County Hospital but died shortly afterwards.

A third person, a woman passenger in the car, was airlifted to Selly Oak hospital by the air ambulance and is believed to be suffering serious head injuries.

Two fire crews from Hereford attended the scene and Chris Fairley from Hereford Fire Station said: "We had to cut the roof off the car to get out the two people."

The road was closed for some time after the accident and traffic was diverted by police.
