Briefings from your Local Policing Team
31st March 2009
There are a number of incidents to bring to your attention this morning ;
On 21st March a householder in Orcop discovered that an outbuilding had been broken into, and a Honda lawnmower, a Stihl 14" chainsaw and an electric mitre saw worth aprox £1200 were stolen.
Overnight 22nd/23rd March several windows and a security light were smashed at a commercial premises on Dene Industrial Estate in Kingstone.
At about 3pm on 26th March, a wallet was stolen from a van parked on a drive in Holme Lacy, the van was not locked at the time.
Shortly before this, the occupier had been visited by two males asking for work chopping trees etc, one of them was found at the rear of their premises!
They are described as white, rough looking, one was stocky and 5'4" aged 30-35 years, wearing a brown jacket. The other was tall and scrawny with a shaved head, he had a Nike jacket on.
Also in Holme Lacy, On Saturday 28th March two young males were disturbed at 4.30 am having broken into the garage of a house, where a vintage car is kept.
The lads were chased away by the householder before anything was taken, but they had been in the car.
On Sunday evening at about 7pm, a farmer from St Weonards spotted two males stealing property from his premises.
They made off in a blue Astra, and the farmer gave chase in his car. He lost the vehicle but managed to get the registration number and pass it on.
The vehicle was circulated to neighbouring forces and it was stopped by our colleagues in Gwent with the stolen property on board.
The occupants were duly arrested, an excellent result due to the farmer being able to take down the registration number of the offending vehicle.
An Ifor Williams trailer was stolen yesterday from a farm in Llanbinabo, it was 14ft 4 wheel base with low sides and had boxes of purple sprouting broccoli in it.
Finally, we have just had a report of another break in to a farm in Orcop. Overnight a chicken shed was entered and a large amount of power tools, a generator and a quantity of armoured cable were taken.
Finally, a reminder that you can help to protect your property by marking it with SmartWater, kits are available from your Local Policing Team at £20 a kit.
Thanks
