Briefings from your Local Policing Team
July 2nd 2009
In June, there were 7 rural churches broken into across the county, and there have been several in neighbouring force areas also.
There is no forced entry to the buildings, the thefts occur during daylight hours when the churches are open. Cash appears to be the motive as the offenders will use some kind of tool to force open locked cabinets and cash boxes.
Please be vigilant if you live near a rural church.
Many thanks
