Briefings from your Local Policing Team
January 5th, 2011
Good morning
I hope you have all had a great Christmas and New Year!
Things on the patch were very quiet over the festive period, probably due to the weather conditions as much as anything, but now there are a few incidents of theft being reported to us, so please be vigilant out there!
Crime Trends
A quantity of heating oil was stolen from a tank at a domestic property in Little Birch sometime between late November and 21st December. The tank is in a field to the rear of the property screened by trees and bushes.
At around 10pm on New Years Eve, A garage premises in Allensmore was broken into, entry was gained to an upstairs office via a fire escape, a small safe was taken.
Between 11.45pm on New Years Eve and 12.10 am New Years Day, two handbags were stolen from a public house in Allensmore.
Between New Years Eve and 2nd January, a red and grey Massey Fergusson 135 tractor registration number OTH663 was stolen from a farm in Kingstone. The tractor had a 3 blade rotary grass cutter on the rear. There was no battery on the tractor, it seems to have been pushed across two fields at the rear of the farm before being loaded onto another vehicle.
Overnight on 1st/2nd January another old Massey Fergusson tractor was stolen from a farm in Allensmore, and was later found abandoned in Lyonshall. This tractor was over 50 years old and not in working order, so must have been loaded onto a trailer.
Please take the registration number of any vehicles towing a trailer with an old tractor on and report it to us, especially at night.
That's it for now
